Recently new administrators have been appointed for the District Municipal Corporations of Karachi to look after the affairs of the DMC's.

Mr. Mohammed Umar Khan has been appointed as the Administrator of the DMC Karachi West. The Administrator, after conducting extensive surveys of the existing works and working of the DMC, has instructed the DMC WEST staff to optimize the efficient use of the DMc's resources, and to work with a missionary zeal to provide the residents with the basic municipal needs. The Administrator has set the following priorities:

1. To provide the residents of DMC West with better sanitation. The decision to make sanitation top priority has been taken due to the worsening sanitary situation in the district. After declaration by the Administrator, that clean up of the district was his first target, a whole hearted effort has been put into this drive and tons of garbage is being lifted daily. All equipment & machinery and the staff has been deployed that is working day and night to meet the challenge.

2. To improve the educational environments in the schools that are run under the control of the District Municipal Corporation Karachi.
